Nolens Volens: an exhibition by Jodee Knowles and Kyoungi KimOpens 6pm Wednesday 14 May | Exhibition runs until Friday 30 May 2008Jodee & Kyoungi are two Perth based artists who are fascinated with the concept of perception. Basing their recent collaborative show 'Nolens Volens' on the idea of immediate reactions and intuitive recognition.
The show primarily entails the use of a single word that both artists have to reinterpret through image. Words that contain significant meaning and relation to life experience. Using the subconscious and their different cultural back grounds to construe a piece of work that is evident within perception.
This show offers more than pen on paper, the viewer can mirror themselves threw the artists own personal familiarity. The term 'Nolens Volens' means- whether willing or unwilling, which reflects the meaning behind the works.
