A diverse range of commercial and retail tenancies are proposed in the New Nortbridge project, with support for future live/work accommodation requirements.

A thriving business sector provides local employment opportunities and allows people to live and work in the neighbourhood. As well as supporting local employment, these businesses contribute to vibrant street life with people on the move between business premises and residential accommodation in the same precinct.

It is anticipated the precinct's resident population will require some 70,000m2 of commercial space to meet its own needs.

Strategies for promoting business in the New Northbridge include:

• Providing mixed-use zonings that facilitate a range of commercial opportunities;
• Attracting flagship businesses;
• Supporting existing businesses; and
• Encouraging private participation in development opportunities.
